In order to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people around the world, and develop exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries in various fields, the Chinese government has set up scholarships to subsidize outstanding students, teachers and scholars from all over the world to study or carry out research in Chinese universities. The Ministry of Education of China entrusts the Management Committee of the National Fund for Studying Abroad (hereinafter referred to as the "National Fund for Study Abroad") to be responsible for the enrollment and management of Chinese government scholarship students. At present, 289 Chinese universities undertake the task of training Chinese government scholarship students.
