Beijing Normal University 2024 Undergraduate Enrollment Guide for Foreign Students
Beijing Normal University is a leading key university in comprehensive research teacher education directly under the Ministry of Education of China, with a long history and profound cultural heritage. The comprehensive strength of the school's disciplines is at the forefront of Chinese universities. It is a key construction university of "Project 985" and "Project 211". In 2017, it entered the national "World-class University" construction A list, and in 2022, it was selected into the second round of "double first-class" construction universities.
I. Admissions major
Our school has 40 majors to recruit foreign students. For specific categories and majors, please refer to Beijing Normal University 2024 Undergraduate Enrollment of Foreign Students.
II. Application conditions
1. The applicant consciously abides by Chinese laws and regulations and the rules and regulations of the school, and respects the customs and habits of the Chinese people. In addition, the applicant should have good moral character, have no criminal record in the past, be in good health, and can ensure normal study and life during their stay in China.
2. Applicants should be 18 to 40 years old (born before August 31, 1984) and a non-Chinese citizen holding a foreign ordinary passport; applicants who have not reached the age of 18 by September 1, 2024 must have a guardian in China.
3. Both parents or one of the applicant are Chinese citizens and have settled in a foreign country. If they have foreign nationality at the time of birth, they shall hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have actually lived in a foreign country for 2 years during the last 4 years (April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024). According to the record, the actual residence in a foreign country for 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to the entry and exit signatures. Residents of mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan apply as international students after immigrating and obtaining foreign nationality shall be implemented in accordance with the above requirements.
4. Applicants should have a Chinese high school diploma or above.
5. The applicant's language ability must meet the relevant professional requirements. To apply for Chinese culture majors, the Chinese level must reach HSK Level 4 180 points; to apply for other majors, the Chinese level must reach HSK Level 5 180 points.
6. Exempt from written examination qualification. Applicants who meet one of the following conditions can apply for exemption from the written examination in the entrance examination. The qualification for exemption from written examination shall be reviewed and determined by the school.
The original (certification) is for inspection by the international student office of our school. If it cannot be provided, it will be disqualified.
3. The original annual transcript or notarized certificate (certification) at the senior high school level.
4. Copy of the HSK score certificate. The examination time on the HSK score certificate will be after November 1, 2021.
5. Letter of recommendation. A letter of recommendation issued by the teacher, head teacher or school leader of the high school. The letter of recommendation does not have a fixed format, but it needs to be signed by the referee.
6. Personal self-statement form. Please download the template and write it in Chinese. The printed version is not accepted.
7. A copy of the passport personal information page, the validity date of the passport must be later than March 31, 2025 (inclusive). Those with visas to China need to provide a copy of the recent visa page, and applicants currently in China need to provide a copy of the alien residence permit within the validity period.
8. No criminal record certificate or commitment.
9. Applicants who meet the requirements of Article 3 of the application conditions in Part II above shall provide the following materials:
(1) Copy of the entry and exit signature page of the last 4 years (April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024) (please sort by time, scan and synthesize a PDF or Word file to upload), the original for reference.
(2) Applicants who were originally Chinese citizens and later naturalized foreign nationality must provide proof of cancellation of original Chinese household registration and proof of withdrawal of Chinese nationality in addition to the above materials.
10. The original notarized certificate of the minor guardian. Applicants who have not reached the age of 18 as of September 1, 2024 must submit a notarized certificate of minor guardians issued by the local notary office. Applicants for majors in Beijing campus must submit the original notarized certificate of guardians in Beijing, and those applying for majors in Zhuhai campus must submit the original notarized certificate of guardians in Guangdong.
11. Applicants for exemption from written examinations must submit relevant examination certificates, diplomas or transcripts and other materials.
12. Copies of other supporting certification materials, such as award certificates, unified examination or standardized test results, certificates, etc., please scan and synthesize a PDF or Word file to upload.
13. Chinese government scholarship applicants are also required to provide:
(1) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships, which is automatically generated after filling in the Chinese Government Scholarship Application System. For details, please refer to the scholarship column of our school's enrollment website;
(2) A copy of the "Foreigner Medical Examination Form"; the original shall be kept by itself. This form shall be uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department and must be filled in English; the applicant shall conduct the examination in strict accordance with the items required in the "Foreigner Medical Examination Form"; the "Foreigner Medical Examination Form" without a lack of examination items, no horse sewing seal on his photo or photos, and no signature and seal of the doctor and hospital is invalid; in view of the validity of the examination results of 6 months, please arrange the physical examination time accordingly.
All of the above materials must meet the following requirements:
★ All application materials must be in Chinese or English, and non-Chinese and English materials must provide the original translation notarization certificate.
★ The school may request the applicant to provide other supplementary materials according to the specific situation.
★ If the online application materials are incomplete, the registration fee is not paid, or the paper application materials are not sent on time will not be accepted.
★
Regardless of whether the applicant is admitted or not, the above paper application materials and registration fees provided are non-refundable.
★ Applicants should ensure that the application information and application materials provided are true and accurate. Once verified by the admissions unit, they will not be admitted or disqualified, and those who have entered the school will be disqualified or registered.
VI. Examination Arrangements
The entrance examination will be held from April 6 to 7, 2024.
The entrance examination will be conducted online, including two parts: written examination and interview. The written test includes comprehensive ability test, writing, English or mathematics. Please refer to the admissions major for the written test content of each major. Applicants who apply for exemption from the written examination and pass the examination only need to participate in the interview. Applicants who apply for two majors must participate in two interviews for different majors.
The specific arrangements for the examination will be notified through the application system and email. Please pay attention to the application system and the email address filled in at the time of application.
VII. Admission
For applicants who meet the registration requirements for the major they apply for, the school shall determine the admission list according to their entrance examination results. Starting from June 2024, the school will notify the applicant of the admission results through the application system and email.
Admission students must register in accordance with the requirements of admission materials such as the Admission Notice. Our school does not allow admitted students to have the student status of two or more schools at the same time.
VIII. School system, learning method and tuition fee
Undergraduates have a four-year academic system, and the learning method is full-time learning, and Chinese teaching is adopted.
Tuition fee for literature and history majors: 12,400 yuan/semester, 24,000 yuan/year;
Tuition fees for science and engineering and art majors: 14,250 yuan/semester, 27,700 yuan/year.

X. Accommodation and visa
1. Beijing Campus
(1) On-campus accommodation: Beijing Normal University International Student Apartment provides single rooms, double rooms and other room types. For relevant information, please refer to the website of Beijing Normal University International Student Office (http://iso.bnu.edu.cn/ "Learning & Life" column - dormitory introduction). After receiving the electronic admission notice, please log in to http://apply.bnu.edu.cn to book the international student dormitory online at 9:00 a.m. on July 1, 2024.
-- 12:00 noon on August 15, 2024. Students who have won the full scholarship of the Chinese government and the international Chinese teacher scholarship do not need to book a dormitory, and it will be uniformly arranged by the school.
(2) Off-campus accommodation: In accordance with the provisions of relevant Chinese laws and regulations, freshmen who stay outside the school must go through the accommodation registration procedures at the local public security organ within 24 hours of check-in. Freshmen who are staying outside the school should submit an application for off-campus accommodation to the international student office of our school at the beginning of the semester and sign the off-campus accommodation commitment.
(3) The admitted person shall apply for an X1 visa to China at the Chinese embassy and consulate in the host country with the Admission Notice and the Application Form for Study Visa in China (JW201/202) sent by the school. 2. Zhuhai Campus
(1) On-campus accommodation: Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus Phoenix College International Student Apartment provides double rooms, the price is 50 yuan/day per person. The accommodation allocation is uniformly arranged by Phoenix College in Zhuhai Campus.
(2) The admitted person shall apply for an X1 visa to China at the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in the host country with the Admission Notice and the Application Form for Study Visa in China (JW201/202) sent by the school.
